Since 1967, Alpha Omicron Pi has raised over $3,000,000 to benefit arthritis research, education, and children’s camps. Smoke Out Arthritis is Delta Tau’s spring philanthropy event, in which our chapter helps in raising money for the Arthritis Foundation. This past year we had our third annual event. We asked local businesses to sponsor our barbecue themed event and we sold over 300 tickets. We had a DJ, as well as a family friendly atmosphere in which the University of Alabama in Huntsville and Huntsville community could come together to support our cause. One hundred percent of the proceeds from Delta Tau’s Smoke Out Arthritis were donated to the Arthritis Foundation, and will be used to directly benefit those who are affected by arthritis.
